"Parliament should pass 'Article 50 Bill' as quickly as possible," says Deputy Leader of Conservative MEPs

Commenting on the latest developments in the Government's plan to deliver the United Kingdom's withdrawal from the European Union, Jacqueline Foster MEP said:

"Following the Supreme Court ruling that a vote in Parliament is necessary to start the process of leaving the European Union, I look forward to the White Paper which will formally set out the Government's Brexit plans, announced by Theresa May on Wednesday 25 January.

"The will of the British people was crystal clear last June. They voted to leave the EU and the Government have said they will deliver on that verdict. I now expect MPs and Peers to adhere to the wishes of the people and ensure the Bill to trigger 'Article 50' has a clear and speedy passage through both Houses of Parliament."
