An island nation needs a powerful navy!

Jacqueline Foster MEP welcomes the first sailing of HMS Queen Elizabeth!

Commenting on the first sailing of HMS Queen Elizabeth, Jacqueline Foster MEP said:

"The primary responsibility of the State is to ensure the security of its citizens. Britain's largest ever warship, the 65,000 tonne HMS Queen Elizabeth, is set to leave Rosyth dockyard today to begin sea trials. What a fantastic testament to the capability of UK manufacturing (such as the world class BAE Systems); the Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers will be the biggest warships ever constructed in our country.

"This sailing of the first of our new class aircraft carriers clearly underlines the Conservative Government's commitment to the strength of our country's defences. A significant and memorable day for nation and our proud naval history!"
