A sell-out audience of 450 people gathered for the awards ceremony held at Liverpool FC’s Anfield stadium, hosted by BBC Breakfast presenter Louise Minchin, to see accolades handed out to the very best performers in the sector.
Commenting, Jacqueline Foster MEP said:
"I was delighted to attend the fourth annual Mersey Maritime Industry Awards in Liverpool. It was fantastic to catch up with many colleagues from across the industry at what is the most prestigious awards event of its kind in the UK! Many congratulations to all the finalists and winners in this thriving sector here in my North West constituency.
"The success of the evening demonstrated Mersey Maritime’s status as the leading cluster in Europe, representing a sector that employs 28,000 people across the city region. Long may it continue to thrive and develop!"
