Jacqueline Foster MEP, Conservative Spokesman on the Transport Committee of the European Parliament, joined colleagues on a special visit to the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) in Cologne on Thursday 17 May 2018. EASA is the centrepiece of the European Union's strategy for aviation safety.Its mission is to promote the highest common standards of safety and environmental protection in civil aviation and develop common safety and environmental rules at the European level.
Commenting after the visit, Jacqueline Foster MEP said:
"I was delighted to spend time at EASA today where my colleagues and I were warmly welcomed by Executive Director, Patrick Ky, and his excellent team. We had some very constructive discussions on drones, cyber-security, environmental performance and the progress of the Brexit negotiations. This is a hugely important relationship for the United Kingdom in the aviation sector which will continue post Brexit!"
