Leading North West MEP, Jacqueline Foster, has again met with campaigners opposed to EU plans to restrict the supply of electronic cigarettes, 'e-cigs', and received a petition signed by thousands of e-cig users.

Foster says 'no' to 'Big Brother' car controls

Conservative Transport Spokesman, Jacqueline Foster MEP, has slammed calls for the EU to require cars and vans be fitted with hi-tech devices to stop them ever breaking the speed limit.  The suggestion, reported in the Daily Mail, has been described as 'costly, counter-productive and an insult to personal freedom' by the North West MEP.
 

Tories fight cash raid on UK farms

North West MEP Jacqueline Foster was among Conservative MEPs who this week condemned a move in the European Parliament to discriminate against British farmers and penalise efficient land-management.  Jacqueline was speaking after meeting with the National Farmers Union, who have warned that British farming could lose £20m a year from changes to the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).
 

Foster welcomes immigration cut

News that net immigration has been cut by more than a third since the General Election has been welcomed by North West Conservative MEP, Jacqueline Foster.  The latest figures show that 62,000 fewer people came to the UK in 2012, after years of uncontrolled immigration under the previous Labour Government. 

Foster rejects EU action on UK benefits

Restrictions on the use of Britain's welfare benefits by non-British nationals is being challenged by the European Commission as Brussels begins legal action against the UK's attempts to tackle benefits tourism.

Tourism spokesman backs golf

The Conservative Party's Spokesman on Transport & Tourism in the EU has helped to launch a major new exhibition on the value and economic importance of golf to the tourist industry in Britain and across Europe. Another UKIP MEP defects to the Conservatives

A leading UKIP MEP has joined the Conservatives in a move that has been welcomed by North West Conservative MEP, Jacqueline Foster.  Marta Andreason, who was elected as a UKIP member of the European Parliament in 2009, hailed the Prime Minister's pledge on an in-out referendum on EU membership as a "game changer".

Foster backs EU budget cut

Around £30 billion could be slashed from the EU’s bloated budget in proposals tabled today.  Demands by Prime Minister David Cameron for the EU to spend less, at a time when national governments are battling budget deficits and debts, were backed by German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

More CAP is not the answer

Proposals from the European Commission to reform the much criticised Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) have been discussed and nearly 8,000 amendments voted on by MEP's.
